Sowell Architects was founded in 1995 as a full-service architectural firm. We have since been involved in the planning and construction of hundreds of projects. Most of our clients do not have unlimited funding. We believe that a project can be attractive and functional even with a tight budget. We strive to achieve that balance between aesthetics, function and cost. Our goal is to be practical and responsible with the client’s money. Good architecture must address the ultimate goals and unique characteristics of each project. No two projects are the same. We will approach each new project from a fresh point of view. Our goal is to make your project as smooth and efficient as possible.

We specialize in commercial, religious, and civic architecture. Our approach to design begins with an in-depth analysis of our client's needs and results in a thoughtfully crafted solution. From a conceptual sketch to photo-realistic renderings, we utilize the latest technology available to help our clients visualize their project. Our 3 licensed architects have a combined 75+ years of experience in the architecture profession with a diverse range of project types and sizes. We have successfully completed over 500 projects in the region and look forward to working with you on your next endeavor.

Rik graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington and has 45 years of experience in the architectural field serving as a draftsman, project manager, principal-in-charge and business owner. His experience includes a wide variety of building types including commercial, retail, religious, medical and corporate.

PROJECT ARCHITECT
Cody was born and raised in Joplin, Missouri. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas School of Architecture. Cody has an eye for design and his hands-on construction experience make him a valuable asset to the team.

Emily is a Conway native and Valedictorian of her graduating class at the University of Arkansas School of Architecture. Emily strives to produce thoughtful, efficient designs that meet and exceed the desired end use and client expectations. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail continues to shine throughout her professional work.

J.T. completed his Drafting and Design degree from the University of Arkansas Community College in Morrilton and joined our team in 2024. He approaches every project with an unwavering commitment to precision and excellence. J.T. ensures that whether it be a small or large project, it is executed with the utmost care.

Avery grew up in Lavaca, Arkansas and recently graduated from UCA with her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. Avery has 2 years of experience in the design field, working hand in hand with clients. She believes in the importance of universal design and creating spaces that meet the unique needs and wants of each client.
